Do YOU Have a Yeast Infection?
So DID I.

Maybe this is your first time?
Maybe you have chronic candida?

I USED to get yeast infections all the time. My first one happened about 15 years ago - around age 25. Since that time, I have learned LOTS! I have soooo much to tell you.

Let me tell you what worked and why. If it is your first time, you may wonder if you really have one? Maybe it is something else. Learning what the symptoms were helped me.

What could be the cause of these frequent and chronic infections? Why did I get one? What were the causes? And, why can't I get rid of it for good?

Maybe it was my husband's fault (I know, I know - not healthy to blame your spouse). But, I was feeling desperate. I learned about male yeast infections to find some answers. Check out what I learned

I tried many different treatments. I tried over the counter medications and creams. Even some prescription medications. They offered fast relief when I needed it most.

But, we wanted to have kids soon. I worried about getting pregnant- would it affect my fertility? Can I use treatments while pregnant? Would I give my baby an infection? If you have questions about pregnancy and yeast, I have answers for you.

I got tired of going to the doctor and pharmacy. And, it was getting $$$$$ expensive. So, I decided to try natural cures and home remedies. I found some that helped and some that didn't. Usually, home remedies were cheaper and gave some relief. Just what I wanted.

I was treating my yeast infection, but it kept coming back...month after month. I felt like I had gone to too many doctors. I was beginning to feel like it was all in my head. But, I knew that the symptoms were not imagined! I was only 28 years old. I felt I should be healthier. A friend recommended trying a naturopath. I decided that I had nothing to lose.

I learned so much from going to a naturopath. I learned about the role of exercise, stress management, diet and balanced living. Exercise and diet really helped control symptoms. It was overwhelming at times. But, I was willing to work at it. Many good books, cookbooks and recipes helped keep me on the road to health.

I enjoyed 10 years of great health. We had 3 beautiful children. Life was good....but I found I didn't feel great after my last pregnancy. I started to have different health concerns - bloating, nausea when I ate certain foods, skin rashes, irritable bowel symptoms, AND YEAST INFECTIONS! Certain food made me feel really bad. I was in denial.

Again, doctors said these symptoms and reactions were common. Some women (of my age - 38!!) were just more sensitive and prone to these 'conditions'.

I felt like there were fewer foods I could eat and feel good after. The yeast infections were back - often. The last 10 baby pounds seemed really hard to lose this time. And, I now had these symptoms of irritable bowel, gas, bloating, hives, mood swings and so on. (Not to mention, a yeast infection is not good for life in the bedroom! - Read about yeast infection and sex.) Heck, I wasn't even 40 years old yet!

What did I do?!? Back to the naturopath. I learned more deeply about systemic yeast infections and candida. I followed a new, improved anti-candida diet. I used supplements and homeopathic remedies.

How about now? It is 2008 and I am feeling great. No more yeast infections. No more gas, irritable bowel, hives, mood swings, and so on. I feel healthy. What do I do? Menu planning, food diaries, food rotation are all part of my life now. I still have some foods I don't eat. These are food sensitivities (food allergies). But, it is so manageable. It is worth it. Knowledge is power. I know what foods bother me and what makes me feel good. I am in control of my health. And, hey - I am ONLY 40!

Let my story be your inspiration and let it give you ALL the answers you need. Good luck and good health.

Enough about me! Let's get YOU some of those answers you deserve and need.
