Causes of Itchy Skin Clearly Explained To You
There are many different causes of itchy skin. Some skin infections are itchy, but some are not.
A skin yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of Candida Albicans, from mold-like fungi such as dermatophytes or from other fungi types.
Candida Albicans, and other fungi and mold as well, lives on our skin.
When the outer skin layer breaks down, a skin fungus infection can occur.
This overgrowth occurs often in warm, moist environments like a rash in skin folds under women's breasts,
in your armpits, groin etc.
Intertrigo is one type of yeast infection affecting the skin.
This occurs when moist skin rubs together causing friction.
Bacterial or fungal infections can
happen in the irritated skin which is usally in skin folds. It can also happen where clothing is rubbing like in hot weather.
It is one of the causes of itchy skin.

Tight or rubbing clothing
hot, humid weather
poor hygiene
inflammtory skin disease like psoriasis in skin folds
topical steroid use
Toxins and poisons, from Candida overgrowth and parasites
in your body, that exit through the skin, instead of through the liver and small and large intestine
Cutaneous Candidiases is another skin infection caused by Candida Albicans. It can occur on any skin of the body.
Diaper rash is a very common example of this type of skin yeast infection.
Cutaneous Candidiases can be caused by:
warm, moist conditions
diabetes
obesity
antibiotics
oral contraceptives
The skin infection, tinea versicolor, is also known as
Pityrosporum orbiculare or Pityrosporum ovale. Tinea versicolor is caused by a yeast called Malassezia furfur
that lives in the skin of most adults.
Tinea Versicolor can be caused by:
birth control pills
burns
heat and humidity
malnutrition
pregnancy
removal of adrenal gland
steroids
suppressed immune system
The fungi called dermatophytes live in dead tissues such as dead skin cells. These infections are also called
tinea.
This type of skin infection is contagious and can be spread through direct contact with another
person.
Other tinea skin infections are ringworm, atheletes foot and jock itch.
Dermatophyte skin infection rashes can be caused by:
contact with an infected person or animal
contact with infected soil or objects (less common)
antibiotic overuse
steroids
obesity
pregnancy
poorly done manicures
The causes of fungal infections of the skin can vary.
