Colon Cleansing Home Remedies Are A Critical Part Of Yeast Infection Cures

These colon cleansing home remedies can be a preventative measure, a treatment and a great step to maintaining good health.

Many feel that a good colon cleansing will not only clear the colon, but clear the whole digestive system. Some people feel that toxins build up in the colon over time which makes colon a breeding ground for parasites, bacteria, fungus, and yeasts.

Why Colon Cleanse

Many people who suffer from yeast infections and Candida also suffer from slow bowel movements and poor digestion processes.

The goal of colon cleansing remedies is to help get the colon moving and to help you have regular bowel movements. There is no 'right' amount of bowel movements. It is very individual.

Sometimes, weight loss can be a health benefit of colon cleansing. Once you can clear your system properly and your bowels are working properly, you may find it easier to lose weight. But, more likely you will feel less bloated.

Colon Cleansing Home Remedies That Help Fight Candida
NOT Feed It

These colon cleansing home remedies will not only cleanse your colon, but they are also the best suited ones for those with candida or yeast infections.

There are many colon cleanse remedies around but some are not good for everyone. Some of them do not work well at all for people suffering from Candida or yeast troubles. For example, a homemade body cleanse may recommend large amounts of fruit, citrus or lemonade. This would be disastrous for someone with Candida troubles. If you have Candida overgrowth, you would likely feel worse off after using this type of home remedies for colon cleansing.

What Works Best For You

A colon cleanse shouldn't be painful. You might feel some discomfort, gas etc at first. You can decrease the dosage or try another home remedy. It is often best to slowly and gradually increase your dosages. Some can tolerate starting at a full dose. Listen to your body and see what feels best for you. Follow package directions. And, talk to your doctor. You may find that colon cleansing is not for you! Or, they can help find a colon cleansing treatment that is just right for you. I have had great sucess with my naturopath.

Out of the many all natural methods you can use, these are the best and most gentle ones to try. They are very effective as well. No matter which one you choose, make sure you get adequate water to keep the remedy moving through your system.

colorful asst vegetables are part of a balanced healthy diet

Increase Your Fibre

Eating a balanced healthy diet is not always easy.

In fact, the way the average American or Canadian eats is certainly not balanced. We love our greasy, fatty and high calories foods...which are all slow to clear the colon.

An all natural way to get your bowels moving is to eat lots of fibre to achieve 2-3 bowel movements a day. Eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water will help to flush your system and keep your body and digestive system hydrated. It will also help you deal with intestinal Candida symptoms. This is the easiest of the colon cleansing home remedies.

Juicing can be a great option to get the goodness of vegetables without all the chewing! Many people also enjoy their vegetables steamed instead of raw.

On the Whole Approach Forums website they recommend that their clients drink "at least 1/2 their body weight in ounces of pure water daily, eat at least 50% vegetables or other live foods".

TIP: Lukewarm water drank throughout the day will help and act as a natural way to clear out your digestive track and support these colon cleansing home remedies.

a bag of psyllium husks are an excellent colon cleansing home remedy

Psyllium Husks and Seeds

Psyllium husks are a safe, effective way to relieve constipation and is one of the colon cleansing home remedies recommended for Candida.

Simply mix one tbsp of psyllium husks into a glass of water and drink immediately. Listen to your body, and start with a lesser dose if this feels uncomfortable.

The swelling of the husk (when it comes in contact with liquid) forms a gelatinous mass that helps to keep stool hydrated and soft, and acts as a natural 'broom' to sweep the walls of the colon.

Follow up with water throughout the day to help the psyllium clear your system.

bag of flax seed are an example of colon cleansing home remedies

Flax Seeds and Flax Seed powder

Flax seed is another one of the great colon cleansing home remedies. It is also a good alternative if you don't tolerate psyllium husks very well.

Flax seed is available in brown, golden or yellow colors. There is no nutritional difference between brown, golden or yellow flax seed.

Here is some background information according to the Canadian Flax Council. (http://www.flaxcouncil.ca/english/index.jsp?p=faq)

Whole flax seed Whole flax seed comes with Nature's own finest packaging - its natural hard hull keeps it fresh. You can store clean, dry, good quality whole flax seed at room temperature for up to a year. Some people keep a jar of flax seed handy on their kitchen counter.

Ground flax seed
All vegetable oil products require some care in handling and storing. Once you grind flax seed, there is greater risk of it developing an off-flavour and taste. That's why it's best to grind whole flax seed as you need it. This ensures its freshness. After grinding, you should refrigerate it in an airtight, opaque container. Ground flax seed handled this way will keep for up to 90 days.

You can grind flax seed by using a regular, cheap coffee grinder or even the ever popular 'Magic Bullet' type blender. Some prefer to grind their flax seed only as needed. This ensures it is always fresh.

A normal daily serving is approximately 2 full tablespoons (20 grams) for every 100 pounds of body weight. 2 tbsp of flaxseed is about 90 calories. 25% of flax seed is fiber, with 12% of that as mucilage.

Mucilage is a thick gluey substance which is thought to form a soothing film over mucous membrane, relieving minor pain and inflammation of the membrane. This makes ground flaxseed a very gentle, natural laxative.

Note: When ground up, 2 tbsp of flaxseed seems like alot. You may have to ease yourself into this amount.

A bonus with flaxseed is that its' lecithin content dissolves the fats from food in your digestive tract and then the fiber and mucilage content traps these fats and toxins and takes them to be eliminated from your body - not be stored as body fat.

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is a volcanic ash that contains inert mineral silicate. Did you know that inert substances like bentonite clay can pass through our body and digestive system undigested? As it does this, the bentonite clay absorbs yeast, bacteria, toxins and even excess acidity.

It has been used for years (more than 60 years!) and is one of the most effective, all natural methods for detoxifying our intestines.

Bentonite clay is available in powder or liquid form. It is best taken as a liquid, because it is hard to get bentonite powder to mix properly with water. Buy it already pre-mixed in liquid form.

A dosage you can start with is 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay daily, mixed with a small amount of juice or even apple sauce to make it more palatable. Listen to your body for a week, and gradually increase your dosage. Don't use more than 4 tablespoons daily - and divide these doses up.

Once mixed with water, bentonite acts like a magnet against the toxins. Its' sponge like substance starts working immediately as one of the great colon cleansing home remedies.

Because bentonite is so good at attracting all the toxins and clearing out the colon and digestive tract, use it first, before probiotics. Two weeks at a time or every once in awhile should be all you need for this gentle detoxification.

There is some controversary with using bentonite clay, so do your research. Don't forget that you can get your colon going by eating vegies and drinking water.

Herbal Remedies

You may want to start introducing some teas or ready-made colon cleansing home remedies instead. Various herbs can have different effects.

A tea made with mint leaves, holy basil leaves, and margosa tree leaves can be an excellent colon cleanser to clear out parasites and larvae from the colon. It just might not taste very good! You can drink a tea like this once a week to help cleanse your colon.

Herbs and spices such as ginger, black pepper, garlic, cloves, cinnamon are good for indigestion and poor digestion since they all contain natural digestive enzymes.

Hoodia, Garcinia, Eclipta alba, and ginger are often used when you want to lose weight.

Some all natural ready made remedies are:
