Yeast infection causes can vary. There are many different causes ranging from what you eat, to how much you sleep, to what you wear and especially, what medicine you take.

However, eating lots of sweets or ice cream will not necessarily be the cause of your yeast infection.

It might play a role, though.

  • HIV positive or immuno-defiency
  • Hormonal fluctuations - often get one right before period
  • Hot weather
  • Humid environments, weather
  • Inflammatory skin diseases like psoriasis in skin folds
  • Lack of sleep
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Malnutrition
  • Menopause
  • Obesity
  • Poor blood circulation
  • Poor eating habits such as a high sugar diet
